If you are a developer building an app that interacts with Dropbox, you’ll need an Access Token. Yeh token ek "Digital Key" ki tarah kaam karta hai jo aapki script ya app ko user ki files access karne ki permission deta hai.

Prerequisites (Zaroori Cheezein)

• A Dropbox account.

• Basic knowledge of how APIs work.

Step 1: Create an App on Dropbox Developer Portal

Sabse pehle aapko Dropbox ke developer platform par apni app register karni hogi.

1. Go to the Dropbox App Console.

2. Click on the "Create App" button.

3. Choose an API: Select "Scoped Access" (standard choice).

4. Choose the type of access: * App Folder: Agar aap chahte hain ki app sirf ek specific folder ko access kare.

   • Full Dropbox: Agar aapko poore Dropbox ka access chahiye.

5. Name your app: Apni app ko ek unique naam dein.

6. Click "Create App".

Step 2: Configure Permissions (Scopes)

Token generate karne se pehle permissions set karna zaroori hai, warna token kaam nahi karega.

1. Apni app settings mein "Permissions" tab par click karein.

2. Yahan aapko jo permissions chahiye unhe check karein (e.g., files.metadata.read, files.content.write, files.content.read).

3. Very Important: Permissions select karne ke baad niche jaakar "Submit" ya "Update" button par click zaroori karein.

Step 3: Generate the Access Token

Ab waqt hai token nikaalne ka!

1. Go back to the "Settings" tab of your app.

2. Scroll down to the section titled "Generated access token".

3. Click the "Generate" button.

4. Copy the Token: Ek lamba alphanumeric code dikhai dega. Isse turant copy kar lein aur secure jagah par save karein.

Note: Dropbox tokens now expire quickly by default (Short-lived tokens). If you need a permanent connection, you should use the Refresh Token flow.

Important Security Tips

• Never share your token: Kisi ko bhi apna access token na batayein, varna woh aapki files delete ya chura sakta hai.

• Environment Variables: Agar aap coding kar rahe hain, toh token ko direct code mein likhne ki jagah .env file mein rakhein.
